What you'll do
Do you want to be at the forefront of cloud-native Infrastructure-as-Data (IaD) and cloud lifecycle management development? We are looking for exceptional individuals to together build cloud orchestration capabilities to simplify our customer’s cloud journey with SAP and help them to do more with less effort.
SAP aims to develop an Open Reference Architecture (ORA) for a secure and sustainable cloud-edge infrastructure that includes intelligent optimization methods for data transparency and security. This reference infrastructure, aspired by the EU IPCEI-CIS (Important Project of Common European Interest – Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services) program, shall be the basis for future software development and a prerequisite for a pan-European cloud edge infrastructure.
SAP will be working on the publicly funded project with both experienced employees from its existing workforce but also new hires. Therefore, we are looking for suitable candidates. If you are interested in Cloud Lifecycle Management System development and operation, the usage and further development of Open-Source solutions and standards, interoperability, efficiency, and sustainability you should consider applying.
In this role, as Developer (f/m/d) for Cloud Orchestration, you will:
- Contribute to building cloud orchestration capabilities in the ORA, leveraging open-source IaD ecosystem, such as Crossplane.
- Develop and operate cloud orchestration capabilities as a managed offering.
- Implement diverse Kubernetes Operators to manage cloud infrastructural and service resources from SAP and other cloud platforms.
- Champion, engage, and cultivate an active community centered around Infrastructure-as-Data within SAP and beyond.
What you bring
We're looking for a motivated, self-driven, and team-oriented individual with a strong technical foundation in cloud engineering and Kubernetes. Specifically, you should have:
- University degree in computer science or related fields and 2+ years of experience in an agile software development organization.
- Proven hands-on software engineering experience with Golang.
- Good understanding of container technologies, Kubernetes, and related cloud-native technologies.
- Experience with Kubernetes extension concepts like CRDs, operator patterns, dynamic admission control, extension API servers, etc.
- Familiarity with Linux systems and command-line interfaces & development of command-line interfaces.
Furthermore, you bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, collaborative, proactive mindset, affinity for continuous improvement procedures, emphasizing clean code, quality, and system efficiency, enthusiasm for technology, ability to discuss and present technical concepts, proficiency in English, and pleasure to work within an international environment.
