For our German sites in Wesseling near Cologne we are looking for a
Process Safety Engineer (m/f/d)
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Solve process safety related issues in polymerization, monomer production, extrusion, solids handling areas, utilities and storage
- Further develop and monitor compliance with common legal and company regulations and guidelines at the Wesseling/ Knapsack site as well as for third party companies at Wesseling site
- Support the Management of Change (MOC) process for all plant changes
- Promote technical process safety exchange within the site assessing and promoting implementation of better practices and technical solutions
- Investigation of process safety incidents
- Observation of rules, regulations and legislation concerning process safety and the state of safety technology
- Implementation of respective amendments in the company guidelines and regulations and information of the affected/relevant areas
- Support pragmatic implementation of OE standards
- Support incident investigation and analysis process incl. training
- Investigation of process safety related incidents
- Innovation: stay up-to-dates regarding new technologies and best practices in the field of process safety
- Focal Point for update/improvement/programming of PHA Tool (RTl1003c)
- Support site manufacturing units and projects on topics concerning ATEX
Qualifications
- Master of Chemical or process engineering degree (Tech. College/ University)
- Several years experience in process engineering, operations or maintenance (preferably process engineering background)
- In depth knowledge of process safety, explosion prevention, handling of flammable liquids and combustible dusts, mechanical integrity, risk assessment, root-cause analysis
- Good communication skills (fluent German, advanced English)
