Data Scientist

Axolabs specializes in a new class of drugs whose active ingredients are chemically derived from DNA or RNA, so-called oligonucleotide or nucleic acid therapeutics. We use our many years of expertise to help our customers make these therapeutics a success. Some of these drugs are already approved and are being used successfully to treat diseases that were previously untreatable. New drugs from this class of drugs are added every year.

This is what awaits you with us

• Develop the life cycle management of our laboratory data with
• Model and prepare research data in close collaboration with bioinformaticians and laboratory scientists
• Data Engineering: Develop automated ETL processes and manage biological databases.
• Machine Learning: Build machine learning models to predict activity and toxicity properties of therapeutic oligonucleotides.
• Data analysis: Visualize and present your results to scientists, e.g. in the form of dashboards

This is what we want

• Master's degree with several years of professional experience or doctorate in data science with a scientific background
• Experience with data architectures and the creation of database interfaces
• Solid experience with machine learning algorithms and their evaluation, as well as with a data science-relevant scripting language, e.g. Python (scikit-learn), R or Tensorflow
• Confident handling of (interactive) data visualization
• Knowledge of version control (git) and unit testing
• Good knowledge of German (at least B1) and English
