Über die Stelle
Wir suchen aktuell einen Werkleiter / Geschäftsführer, welcher für die Bereiche Produktion, Instandhaltung und HESQ zuständig ist. Als Werkleiter koordinieren Sie den Betrieb des Standorts, um die Einhaltung der allgemeinen Ziele von Yara, die Steuerungssysteme und die Kundenerwartungen zu gewährleisten. Der Werkleiter führt das Managementteam und sorgt für eine gut funktionierende Zusammenarbeit zwischen Seniormanagement, den Mitarbeiter in Produktion und Instandhaltung sowie den Support-Abteilungen.
Sie müssen sich für die Erreichung operativer Spitzenleistungen engagieren. Wir suchen einen Kandidaten, der ein ausgeprägtes Interesse an Sicherheit, Wachstum und kontinuierlicher Verbesserung hat und die Teams im Werk unterstützt, um für Yara erfolgreich zu sein. Sie werden Teil eines europaweiten Werkleiter-Teams sein und berichten in Ihrer Funktion an den SVP Production North Europe.
- Leitung und Koordination der Arbeitsabläufe in den Bereichen Produktion, Instandhaltung und Inspektion
- Entwicklung der Team- und Produktionsleitung unter den strategischen Zielen von Yara
- Strategische Planung zur Verbesserung und Weiterentwicklung der Produktion, Qualität und Ressourcennutzung am Standort
- Führung zur Sicherstellung einer effektiven Nutzung von Personal und Ausrüstung, kurz- und langfristige Planung zur Gewährleistung von Kontinuität und Spitzenleistungen des Werkes
- Gute und vertrauensvolle Zusammenarbeit mit Arbeitnehmervertretungen (Betriebsrat)
- Zusammenarbeit mit den Abteilungsbereichen HESQ, Einkauf, Finanzen und Personal im Tagesgeschäft sowie die Verantwortung für die Implementierung von nachhaltigen Verbesserungen
Profil
- Master- / Diplom-Abschluss (oder vergleichbar) in Ingenieurswissenschaften, Betriebswirtschaft, Chemie oder Ähnliches
- Mindestens fünf Jahre Berufserfahrung in der chemischen Industrie
- Führungs- und Teambuildingfähigkeiten
- Umfassende Kenntnisse von Sicherheitsstandards in der chemischen Industrie
- Souveränes und kommunikatives Auftreten sowie Stressresistenz
- Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift, Deutschkenntnisse wünschenswert
- Flexibilität und Bereitschaft Neues zu erlernen
- Vollständige Identifizierung mit den Yara-Werten
- Zuverlässige und strukturierte Arbeitsweise

The Yara plant in Rostock, founded in 1981 as “VEB Düngemittelwerk Rostock”, is one of the most modern and innovative production sites in the Yara Group and the region, with approximately 285 employees. About the Role
We’re currently seeking a Plant Manager to oversee the production, maintenance, and HESQ assurance functions at Yara Rostock.
As Plant Manager you will coordinate the site operations to ensure compliance with Yara’s overall objectives, steering systems, and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a high performing team, serving as liaison between plant workers, senior management, and support departments.
As a Plant Manager you must be committed to achieving operational excellence. We are looking for a candidate that has a genuine interest in safety, growth and continuous improvement while supporting teams at the plant to succeed for Yara.
You will be part of a dedicated Plant Manager leadership team and report to SVP Production North Europe.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate operations for production, maintenance, and inspection
- Develop team and production leadership in line with Yara’s strategic aspiration.
- Design roadmap to implement strategic improvements for production, quality, and resources at the plant.
- Provide leadership to ensure effective utilization of workforce and equipment, planning both short and long-term to ensure continuity and excellence in operations.
- Ensure good relationship with Unions and employee representatives, in order to create a good climate for industrial relations, while pushing a performance culture
- Collaborate with other departments such as HESQ, Operational Excellence, Finance and HR in processes for day-to-day operations and in implementation of improvements.
Profile
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business, engineering, or related field
- Five or more years of operational experience in operations within the chemical industry
- Demonstrable leadership, supervision, and team-building skills
- Strong knowledge of and adherence to industrial and Yara’s safety standards
- Strong problem solving and collaboration skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal. German language is an advantage
- Flexible, open to change and willingness to learn.
- You identify yourself with Yara’s values and leadership behaviors.
