All about the roleThe successful candidate will play a fundamental role in our fantastic HR Team as a Payroll Manager supporting the Payroll Director with strategic functions as well as managing a large team of Payroll Specialists to support an accurate and timely payroll of approximately 3000 (6500 DACH) employees across 6 countries.
In addition, the following activities are part of your area of responsibility:
- Management and oversight of payroll operations for Germany, Austria and Switzerland and drive ongoing compliance through continuous improvement.
- Drive all payroll queries to Payroll Specialists via People Portal (ticketing system) ensuring compliance to SLA.
- Manage all overpayment recovery and payroll reconciliations, working closely with Finance.
- Support Payroll Director with audit enquiries and implementation of processes to ensure compliance.
- Manage and analyse our payroll data to ensure accuracy and provide key information to other teams in the business (eg. Finance).
- Analyse variance reports and prepare payroll sign off documentation for Payroll Director and HR Director approval in a timely manner.
- Approve and ensure all payments are made on time, providing oversight of a global compliance timetable.
- Ensure third party payments are made to providers accurately and on time.
- Manage year-end reporting, including P11Ds.
- A team player with the ability to take initiative and lead by example and min. 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – treats people with respect; is approachable, open and direct; develops effective working relationships with staff at all levels.
- A high degree of PC literacy with advanced Excel (Pivots and VLookups).
- Good decision-making skills.
- Flexible approach to work, responsibilities and deadlines.
- A strong focus on customer service essential.
- High level of attention to detail with good analytical and numeracy skills.
