Your tasks:
- Planning, establishing, performing and analyzing genetic and epigenetic experiments (e.g., analysis of DNA methylation and histone modifications, miRNA profiling, gene expression analyses, assay design, primer design)
- Development, implementation, optimization, and application of novel methods
- Quality control and processing of the results of the analyses, including biometric database generation
- Scientific analysis, interpretation, and publication of research data
- Supervision of PhD students, research assistants, and interns
- Participation in administrative tasks within the group
- excellent research environment with close collaboration with the Max Planck Institute of Immunology and Epigenetics, with the Department of Developmental Epigenetics led by Nicola Iovino
- Participation in a dedicated, interdisciplinary team with long-standing, internationally renowned expertise
- a diverse area of responsibility and a high degree of independence
- Participation in other research projects of the group
- Career development opportunities (Habilitation)
- completed studies in Biology, Neurobiology, Molecular Medicine, or related disciplines
- very good doctorate degree in molecular-biological research
- excellent knowledge of and experience with the application, analysis, and processing of epigenetic methods, particularly in the analysis of DNA methylation and histone modifications
- excellent IT and statistical skills
- relevant track record of peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals.
- very good written and spoken English language skills
- high motivation, capacity for teamwork, and sense of responsibility
