Main Target of the ICT EMEA Procurement Manager Metallics is to develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned Metallic Categories, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. The person aligns strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. He/she executes the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures. 

 

Reporting to the Regional Director of Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Development for the ICT business unit, the Purchasing Manager Metallics ICT EMEA will be leading the Metal Category strategies with a Team of 3 buyers. Moreover, part of the role is to lead the team of Sourcing supports in India who are supporting the complete ICT EMEA Procurement Team, as well as having the Lead on the Working students managing the Compliance topics with all suppliers.  

 

The role requires ability to effectively collaborate to develop strategy and drive execution across the metal commodities, categories, and suppliers in the region. The Purchasing Manager Metallics ICT EMEA will also be responsible for leading the Supply Base Strategy for the ELMEC portfolio while leading the Supplier Consolidation Projects strategically. The ideal candidate will have desire and drive for upward mobility and exhibit the required values, performance, and behaviours to enable such. 

 

  • Develops regional sourcing strategies for Metallic Categories for ICT EMEA, considering the business needs as well as optimizing the supply chain and minimizing total cost of acquisition 
  • Complete the Elmec Consolidation Strategy to promote preferred TE Suppliers and leveraging business. 
  • Accountable for achieving annual goals for assigned KPIs including cost, quality, delivery on a regional spend of 30M$+ 
  • Ensure a sustainable pipeline of material productivity initiatives for the business unit/region 
  • Capture the needs of the BU and fulfil the expectations in commodity related KPIs and service level as internal customers. 
  • Ensure suppliers are compliant to global and regional regulatory or legal requirements (RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, etc.). 
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with selected, high-critical set of key suppliers 
  • Be the escalation point for all supply base issues or opportunities 
  • Drive improvements in the EMEA supply base in collaboration with BU functions, Procurement, Quality, Supplier Development, etc, special focus on ELMEC supply base by leading key initiatives  
  • Leading the Pre-Sourcing Cross functional Alignment for ICT EMEA  
  • Leading the Global Multi sourcing initiative for ICT  
  • Works in accordance with the TE processes, values and behaviours 
     
What your background should look like:
  • Minimum Bachelors degree, MBA is a plus 
  • At least 6 years of experience within the area of Operations  
  • Ideally Procurement & PjM experiences  
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and communication skills  
  • Experience in commodity/material market tracking and analysis 
  • Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task  
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with multi-cultural teams 
  • Ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and continues improvement attitude 
  • Ability to form successful working relationships quickly at all levels  
  • Ability to prioritize manage complexity in a fast-paced environment 
  • Very Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, must be a critical thinker 
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint 
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken, German basic skills required
  • Other languages are a plus
