Director (m/f/d) - Commercial Due Diligence (CDD) - Private Equity Performance Improvement

A&M's Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice focuses on serving upper middle market and large cap private equity firms who have engaged A&M to diligence potential acquisition targets in pre-deal situations as well as help improve operating results at their portfolio companies. Our area of expertise is integrated pre-deal due diligence assistance and supporting performing companies to deliver a growth strategy as well as supporting under-performing with a need to reorganize or take costs out. Working directly with company management, A&M helps stabilize financial and operational performance by developing and implementing comprehensive profitability and working capital improvement measures.

As a Director CDD (m/f/d) you will manage the following key responsibilities, supported by the European Private Equity Performance Improvement team:  

  • Commercial Due Diligence, Value Creation Planning, Post-Merger Integration and Performance Improvement Implementation
  • Managing rapid diagnostics through analytical and qualitative insight to identify opportunities to transform a PE-owned organisation’s current performance
  • Advising and implementing commercially focused performance improvement programs for large PE portfolio companies across a wide range of industry sectors
  • Leading the post-acquisition work to ensure that the CDD is activated in full and in the shortest possible time
  • Work to ensure that our CDD reports are realized in full and in the shortest possible time with a clear path to deliver the value, cost reduction and the identified quick wins
  • Engaging in & developing a detailed, sophisticated and robust A&M approach to CDD and Commercial operations
  • Contribute strongly to business development activity including developing successful pitches and selling, on from the initial “diagnostic” project phase into implementation work

At best you already have some relevant consulting experience and the following qualifications:  

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university is essential
  • Experience in Commercial Due Diligence in a strategy firm, specialist/niche advisory firm or ‘Big 4’ consultancy
  • Recent, relevant experience in delivering international change in operations
  • Experience and understanding of the private equity lifecycle 
  • Lead holistic performance improvement projects
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Fluency to a native level in both written and verbal English and German is essential
