The Hertie School seeks to fill the following position:
Doctoral or Postdoctoral Researcher (gn)
on a full-time basis (40 hours per week). The contract shall commence in November 2024 and is limited to one year. You will be working on the research project "Humanization of Logistics in the Digital Transformation".
The project is part of the European joint project "Humans in Digital Logistics (HuLog)" and is funded in Germany by the Federal Ministry of Education Research (BMBF) as part of the "Collaboration of Humanities and Social Sciences in Europe (Chanse)" program of the European Union. The project conducts international and interdisciplinary research into the relationship between the application of digital technologies in the logistics process, working and employment conditions and the consequences of labour policy in European logistics.
You will be responsible for coordinating, conceptualizing and implementing the research work in an interdisciplinary and international group of researchers. You will conduct and synthesize empirical research, especially in qualitative fieldwork, and coordinate the joint work with the international project partners from the point of view of the subproject. You will publish the results of the project individually and jointly with partners. You will be responsible for outreach, communication and liaising with the stakeholders.
Your profile:- Completed at least a Master's degree in the social sciences with a focus on business and management, ideally within a subject domain in human resources management, industrial sociology, organization and strategy,
- Research achievements proven by first peer-reviewed journal publications,
- Professional experience in empirical, but especially qualitative research,
- Professional experience in the management and steering of projects or practical knowledge of the field of logistics management,
- Excellent spoken and written German and English
- Work experience in the field of workshop moderation and research communication,
- Understanding of privacy policies and research ethics.
