Position: Head of Accounting Function: Finance Leadership Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) The Role This newly created position offers a rare opportunity to take full ownership of building and leading a centralised finance function. The Head of Accounting & Tax will be instrumental in unifying reporting standards, digitising workflows, and aligning accounting and tax processes across the group. The role offers both strategic and operational scope, reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with stakeholders across acquired entities. Responsibilities Full responsibility for accounting and tax across all German entities, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (HGB) Central coordination and delivery of tax filings in collaboration with external advisors Establishment of group-wide reporting and compliance frameworks Development and oversight of liquidity planning, inter-company reconciliations, and accounts receivable processes Evaluation and implementation of systems to support digitalisation and automation across finance Definition and rollout of standardised processes and internal controls across locations Team leadership and development, with direct responsibility for a small team and dotted-line oversight of finance staff across subsidiaries Profile Strong experience preparing financial statements under HGB and working with tax advisors and auditors Background in multi-entity structures, ideally with exposure to post-merger integration, decentralised environments, or shared service centre design Handson experience with the implementation or improvement of ERP systems and digital finance tools Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive change, and build scalable processes from the ground up Native/fully fluent in German and strong written and spoken English Seniority level MidSenior level Employment type Fulltime Job function Accounting/Auditing Industries Venture Capital and Private Equity Principals #J-18808-Ljbffr
