Managing Director

The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs’ corporate strategy, and in preserving the firm’s distinctive culture. It promotes constructive relations with governments and regulators, and responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive regulatory and legislative advocacy strategy and public policy agenda to benefit the firm. A global group, the Office of Government Affairs develops and manages relationships with key national and international regulatory and legislative officials, and manages Goldman Sachs participation in advocacy-oriented efforts, among other things. Currently, it has approximately 35 professionals globally and is run by the Global Head of Government Affairs who is based in Washington DC.
The successful candidate will be a regulatory policy expert who will work closely with regional management and coordinate with OGA colleagues in the US and APAC to develop and execute regulatory policy analysis and advocacy objectives for the Firm.
Build relationships with external stakeholders, including with regulators, peer firms, and trade & industry bodies, and represent the Firm’s policy views in these fora
Deliver verbal and written briefings and analyses on complex topics to a wide range of internal stakeholders, including senior management
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and ability to effectively engage senior stakeholders in English and at least one European language
