The labs of Prof. Dr. Andreas Feigenspan and Prof. Dr. Johann Helmut Brandstätter are interested in the mechanisms of synaptic transmission at the first synapse of the visual system using anatomical, molecular biological, physiological, and computational approaches. Join an international group of experimental neurobiologists with close connections to the medical and technical faculties and access to several core facilities. To study synaptic processes in the mammalian retina, the Division of Animal Physiology at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg is looking for a Postdoctoral researcher in neurobiology (m/f/d).

Ihre Aufgaben

• Participation in electrophysiological and imaging experiments based on current research projects

• Integration of experiments, data analysis and modelling

• Teaching of undergraduate and graduate students in lab courses and lectures

• Development of research projects and acquisition of funding

Ihr Profil

Notwendige Qualifikationen:

• PhD in natural sciences, life sciences, preferentially neurobiology

• Basic knowledge of neurophysiology

• Fluency in English

Wünschenswerte Qualifikationen:

• Proficiency in data analysis and programming (Python, R, Matlab)

Stellenzusatz

The position will be available in December 2024, and it is initially funded for three years with the option to be extended. Salary and benefits are based on the public service positions in Germany (TV-L).
