We are looking for a visionary General Manager to lead our latest venue in Hamburg, scheduled to open in 2024.

Position Overview:

As the General Manager, you'll be the captain for our Hamburg venture, responsible for operations, team leadership, and seamless corporate coordination. Your role is instrumental in maintaining excellence, aligning with our global vision, and ensuring the museum's stellar performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Mastery: Drive corporate targets, assist in budgeting, and oversee operations and Sales & Marketing while upholding company policies and overseeing administrative and human resource operations.

  • Lead the charge in achieving our Museum's corporate targets - Financial KPIs (like EBITDA), Sales & Marketing milestones (Visitors, Revenues), and operational excellence (Labor costs, Productivity). Your tactics will propel us beyond these goals.
  • Collaborate on crafting annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, ensuring they're not just numbers but pathways to operational efficiency and success.
  • Mastermind the working schedules, orchestrating a harmonious balance between operational demands and workforce efficiency.
  • Ensure the museum follows company policies and procedures (HQ guidelines), maintaining a standard of operational excellence.
  • Oversee administrative, logistical, human resources, and accounting services, serving as the backbone for our company's seamless operations.
  • Recruit, monitor, and coordinate the museum's Management team, nurturing a culture of excellence and synergy.
  • Interact with visitors, promptly addressing queries, and ensuring a superior customer experience that captivates every guest.

Financial Finesse: Monitor financial data, budgets, and transactions, collaborating with local accounting agencies and ensuring stringent financial protocols.

  • Collect, interpret, and review financial information from suppliers, uncovering invaluable insights that guide our strategic decisions.
  • Follow up meticulously on annual budgets across Operations, Sales & Marketing, ensuring they're not just plans but pathways to success.
  • Ensure that the museum's cash handling procedures are impeccable, guaranteeing precision and transparency in financial transactions.
  • Provide detailed follow-up with the local accounting agency, ensuring a seamless flow of financial transactions and accurate record-keeping.
  • Perform essential accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial processes.
  • Oversee the collection and archiving of invoices from suppliers, maintaining a meticulous record for financial transparency and accountability.

HR Headway: Lead staff recruitment, training, and evaluation, maintaining personnel records, and facilitating smooth communication with the accounting department.

  • Lead staff selection, recruitment, and training, nurturing a team that embodies excellence and dedication.
  • Organize and maintain meticulous personnel records, updating internal databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee information.
  • Evaluate and motivate the staff and Management Team, fostering a culture of enthusiasm and high performance.
  • Facilitate seamless collaboration with the accounting department, providing relevant employee information for smooth payroll operations.
  • Oversee salary payments, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for the hard work of our team.

Sales & Marketing Stewardship: Spearhead Sales & Marketing goals, ensuring strategic implementation in line with Headquarters' directives.

Local Operations Leadership: Oversee compliance with legal requirements, safety laws, and maintain the museum's standards of cleanliness and maintenance while ensuring an amazing guest experience.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or relevant field; MBA a strong plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in relevant roles, ideally entertainment industry exposure, international market familiarity, and demonstrated leadership.
  • Skills: Profound leadership capabilities, cross-functional management expertise, comprehensive business knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, problem-solving prowess, excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written), strategic thinking ability, and availability for frequent travel.
