Whether it’s a Friday-night feast, a post-gym poke bowl, or grabbing some groceries, our tech platform connects tens of millions of customers with hundreds of thousands of restaurant, grocery, and convenience partners across the globe.

About this role

We are looking for a senior engineering leader to head up engineering across our Logistics Services pillar. This role is responsible for the technical strategy, execution, and operational excellence of the platforms and services that connect our logistics network with the outside world, power the tools our operations teams rely on daily, and enable partners to plug directly into JET's delivery capability.

You will lead an engineering organisation of approximately 59 people across three domains: DaaS, Integrations, and Tooling. The systems your teams own determine how reliably we integrate with business partners, how effectively our operations teams can manage couriers and configure delivery zones in real time, and how seamlessly external businesses can use JET's logistics infrastructure to power their own delivery operations. These are high-scale, real-time systems that sit at the edge of our logistics network, and the quality of your engineering directly shapes the experience of partners, operations teams, and ultimately couriers and customers every day.

This is a rare opportunity to own the engineering across a uniquely broad problem space, where you're simultaneously building internal operational tooling, external-facing integration platforms, and a B2B delivery service layer, all running at the scale of a global food delivery business. If you're energised by the complexity of serving multiple stakeholder types, by the challenge of building platforms that others depend on, and by having genuine strategic influence on how JET's logistics capability grows, this role has all of that.

A key focus of this role will be shaping the consolidation toward shared, robust services, reducing fragmentation across the three domains and improving reliability and scalability for both internal and external consumers.

Location: Hybrid – 3 days a week from Berlin or Canada office & 2 days working from home

These are some of the key components to the position:

  • Define and execute the technical strategy for Logistics Services engineering, ensuring it aligns with the broader Logistics and Technology roadmap and delivers measurable improvements in integration reliability, platform performance, and operational tooling quality.
  • Lead the engineering organisation across DaaS, Integrations, and Tooling domains, providing clear vision, technical direction, and ownership of delivery across all your teams.
  • Shape the architectural evolution across the integrations layer, operational tooling, and the DaaS platform, moving toward high-performance, scalable, and shared platform components that reduce duplication and complexity globally.
  • Partner closely with your product counterpart and other product and engineering counterparts to align roadmaps, prioritise investments, and translate strategy into execution.
  • Foster an engineering culture built on technical excellence, experimentation, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure operational stability and service reliability across systems that run at significant scale and have direct impact on partners, operations teams, couriers, and customers.
  • Build and develop engineering leadership within your organisation, coaching engineering managers and senior engineers to grow and deliver at a high level.
  • Own hiring, retention, and team structure, ensuring you have the right capabilities to take on the technical challenges ahead.
  • Manage a multi-million dollar engineering budget, shaping technology investment decisions with clear business cases and ROI thinking, including vendor strategy and management.
  • Operate at Director, VP, and Board level where needed, building relationships across Engineering, Product, Operations and the wider business, and bringing the confidence to push back constructively when it matters.

What will you bring to the team?

You probably won't tick every box below, and that's fine. Here's what we think will set you up for success in this role:

  • Significant engineering leadership experience, including several years leading large, distributed engineering organisations (50–100+ people).
  • A background in platform or integration engineering at scale, ideally with experience building B2B or external-facing services in a logistics, market
