The professorship in Economics (W2, tenured) is part of the Cluster of Excellence «ECONtribute: Markets & Public Policy», which is jointly run by the Universities of Cologne and Bonn and funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) within the framework of the Excellence Strategy ( The Cluster provides a dynamic, collaborative and international research environment for understanding market functioning and failures, as well as public policy responses, using innovative research approaches. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the overall research agendas of the Cluster and the WiSo-Faculty and engage in the management of the Cluster and the academic administration of the WiSo-Faculty.
The professorship will be based in the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Cologne and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to excellence in teaching in the WiSo-Faculty's programmes.
We invite applications from outstanding scholars from all fields in economics, such as applied, quantitative, public, or international economics. We expect from candidates that they have a track record of outstanding publications in economics and a strong commitment to research excellence. Candidates have ideally also demonstrated the ability to offer high-quality teaching in Economics at different levels.
